My apologies for the absence of new photos- I had a bit of a scare because a water bottle leaked all over my laptop, putting it out of commission for a while. Thanks to a bag of rice, it's now dry and back in working order! So, have three shots of the fireworks from last weekend.

Day 146

It was Spring Concert on Saturday, which meant bands playing most of the day, and an all-campus picnic. Smash Mouth played, which was hilarious because a significant subset of the audience really only came to hear their two songs from Shrek. At one point, they lost power to the stage, so while tech people were running around fixing it, the crowd spontaneously sang 'All Star' to them. So the weather forecast lied. It actually hit 98 degrees yesterday. When it was still snowing at the beginning of the month, we had joked about skipping spring and going directly from winter to summer. Somehow, despite the fact that we still had snow 2 weeks ago, the high for today is 91. Talk about abrupt turnarounds! In another abrupt turnaround, both legislative bodies in Minnesota have now voted to legalize gay marriage, which the governor has already guaranteed he'll sign. This was a bit surprising because last November, the people were voting whether to define marriage as only relating to a man and woman. We went to watch alumni play CUT (Carleton Ultimate Team) yesterday. 70-odd alums formed GUT (Graduate Ultimate Team), and then rotated on each point. It was a lot of fun! Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota. Taken 5.11.13.
