The aftermath. It was above freezing for the first part of the snow, so the result was that we got between 1 and 2 inches of solid ice on all the paths and roads. The plows couldn't scrape that off, so there was a layer of hard-packed snow on top of that, with all the looser stuff pushed to the side. Also, the trees got completely plastered with snow from the wind, which melted but was covered before it dripped, so they had thick layers of ice and snow as well. There were quite a lot of limbs down the next morning, including (impressively) one off a big tree; the break was in the main branch, which must have had a 7 or 8 inch diameter. Taken 2.21.14
